However, they can use their existing balance to make the payment.
Deactivate Paytm FASTag: NHAI in its press release has issued an advisory for Paytm FASTag users to switch to other bank FASTag before March 15, 2024. To ensure hassle-free travel and avoid inconvenience at toll plazas, NHAI has advised Paytm Fastag users to purchase a new Fastag issued by any other bank before March 15, 2024. This will avoid paying fine or double fee while traveling on national highways.

Can you use Paytm FASTag on toll after March 15?
As long as there is balance available in your Paytm FASTag you can continue to use it to pay toll. But from now on you will not be able to add top-up balance or recharge. This means that if the balance in your Paytm Fastag is less than the toll amount, then your Fastag will stop working.
How to port Fastag from Paytm Payments Bank to another bank?
Till March 13, there is no porting facility in FASTag, that is, you cannot port the existing FASTag from Paytm Payments Bank to any other bank.
Balance transfer from Paytm Fastag to other bank’s Fastag?
At present the option of balance transfer is not available in Fastag. You can either utilize the remaining amount or switch your Fastag and request a refund from Paytm Payments Bank.
How to deactivate Paytm FASTag?
If you want to deactivate your Paytm Fastag, you can call the toll free number or do so through the Paytm app. Paytm FASTag toll free number is 1800-120-4210. If you have opted for calling then you will have to provide your registered mobile number along with Fastag and Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) or Tag ID.
How to request for closure of Fastag?
Go to ‘Service Section’ of Paytm app and select ‘Manage Fastag’ option. Below which you will see an option named ‘Close Fastag’. Select the appropriate reason for closing your FASTag and click on Close FASTag. Your tag will be closed in 5-7 days and refund will also come.

NHAI has released a new list of authorized banks which includes 39 banks and financial institutions, through which you can buy your new Fastag.
