Delhi airport issues advisory : At present, fog and cold wave have created havoc in the entire NCR including the capital Delhi. Not only the trains coming to Delhi are getting late, but the flights are also getting delayed. Amid severe fog conditions, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) has issued an advisory for passengers, requesting them to contact airlines before travelling.

According to news agency ANI, the Airport Authority said in a post on ‘X’, ‘Due to dense fog, flight operations at Delhi Airport may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the concerned airline for updated flight information. The post said that ‘deeply regret for any inconvenience caused.’

Let us inform that earlier on Sunday, low visibility and dense fog conditions across North India affected IndiGo’s flight operations, causing inconvenience to air passengers. An official statement from IndiGo Airlines said that ‘Due to low visibility and dense fog conditions across North India, IndiGo flight operations have been affected on January 14, 2024.

The statement said that ‘there was a widespread impact on our operations throughout the day. Our staff kept the passengers in check. The airports were informed about all delays and cancellations and every possible effort was made for the convenience of the passengers. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers.

What will the weather be like ahead?

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the lowest minimum temperature of this winter season was recorded on Sunday. Cold weather continued in Delhi and surrounding areas on Monday and minimum temperatures were recorded between 3-7 degrees Celsius in most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. There was a layer of fog in most parts of the capital, due to which visibility was low.

18 trains coming to Delhi late

Visibility at Delhi airport reduced to zero at 3 am today, but improved slightly at 5.30 am. Current visibility is 50 metres, runway visibility is 250 meters to 400 metres. Meanwhile, today 18 trains coming to Delhi from different parts of the country are running late due to dense fog.
