It has come to light that on recharging a mobile through this platform, one may have to pay an additional convenience fee of up to Rs 3, whereas till now one had to pay only the price of the mobile plan. Now separate convenience fee will also be applicable according to the price of recharge plan.

Payment apps like PayTM and PhonePe already required users to pay a convenience fee for mobile recharge and Gpay remained a good option as it did not charge any separate convenience fee. Now, on the lines of other apps, Google Pay has also started charging convenience fees. Information about this change has also been given by popular tipster Mukul Sharma. However, it has not been implemented for all users yet.

Tipster shared screenshot of the app

A screenshot has been shared by tipster Mukul Sharma on microblogging platform According to Tipster, if you recharge from plans worth up to Rs 100, you will not have to pay any fees. However, for recharge from plans costing more than this, this fee will have to be paid separately.

How much will be charged for which plan?

According to Mukul Sharma’s post, if you recharge from a plan priced between Rs 101 to Rs 200, you will have to pay a convenience fee of Re 1. Similarly, for recharge plans priced between Rs 201 to Rs 300, you will have to pay a convenience fee of Rs 2 and for plans priced at Rs 301 or more, you will have to pay a convenience fee of Rs 3. However, due to a special trick the work can be done for free.

This way work will be done without convenience fees

If you do not want to pay this convenience fee while recharging your mobile, then a trick can be useful. You will have to go to the app or website of the telecom company whose number is to be recharged. For example, you can recharge through MyJio or Airtel Thanks app. Apart from this, recharge option is also available on company websites.
