After the demise of Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy, the discussion has once again started regarding the stuck money of the depositors of four societies of this group.
But, they need not worry. The reason for this is that the government had launched a portal in July. Through this, depositors can withdraw their money. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had launched the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies ( CRCS )-Sahara Refund Portal on July 18. Then the methods to register on this portal were also explained. In its order dated March 29, the Supreme Court, while giving relief to the depositors of Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies , had ordered to transfer Rs 5000 crore from the Sahara-SEBI refund account to CRCS .
Who can apply?
It was decided to give priority in taking money through this portal to those who had deposited Rs 10,000 or more. The total number of investors in this category was more than one crore. After returning the money of all such investors, it was decided to increase the limit of return amount. Depositors of Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited can apply to get their money back through this portal.
Which documents will be required?
Depositors will have to provide many information for registration on this portal. These include membership number, account number, mobile phone number linked to Aadhaar, deposit certificate and PAN card. Depositors who have not applied yet. They will have to collect all these documents first. After this they will be able to apply through this portal. It is believed that there are still many depositors who have not applied.
What is the process to apply?
If you had deposited in the above mentioned four societies of Sahara then you can apply through this portal. For this you will first have to go to //mocrefund.crcs.gov.in/. After that you will have to give all your information. First of all you have to enter your 12 digit membership number. Last 4 digits of Aadhaar number have to be entered. After that you will have to enter your mobile number which is linked to Aadhaar.
After that you will get an OTP. After entering it your form will be completed. After that you will have to put your photo on the claim form. This claim form will have to be uploaded on the portal along with the copy of PAN. Your money will come to your account within 45 days. You will be informed about this through SMS.
