Govardhan puja 2023 date

Govardhan Puja falls on Pratipada date of Kartik month. In the Hindu calendar it can also be celebrated a day before Amavasya Tithi. But it depends on the starting time of Pratipada Tithi. The festival of Govardhan Puja generally falls on the next day of Diwali Puja every year. However, sometimes there may be a difference of one day. According to Drik Panchang, this year Govardhan Puja is on 14 November.

Govardhan Puja 2023 auspicious time and timing

As per the Panchang the puja timings for the festival will start at 6:43 am and end at 8:52 am on November 14. The auspicious time will last for 2 hours and 9 minutes. Meanwhile Pratipada Tithi will start at 2:56 pm on November 13 and end at 2:36 pm on November 14.

Govardhan Puja 2023 puja method, bhog and puja material

Some things should be kept in mind while performing Govardhan Puja. First of all, make Govardhan Mountain in your courtyard with cow dung. Then light the lamp and offer rice, kheer, batasha, water, milk, paan, saffron and flowers and worship Lord Govardhan. Also, after arranging all the materials, pray to Lord Krishna. On this day, 56 or 108 types of dishes should be prepared and offered to God.

To make offerings for Govardhan Puja, you will need sweets, incense sticks, flowers, garland made of fresh flowers, roli, rice and cow dung for the Lord. Devotees also prepare 56 bhog food items known as Chhappan Bhog. They also make Panchamrit of honey, curd and sugar.

Meanwhile, the puja ingredients for Govardhan Puja include wheat, rice, panchamrit (made from curd, milk, honey, sugar, dry fruits and basil leaves), Annakutta Sabzi (made from several vegetables), and curry (made from gram flour and leafy vegetables ) Are included. Kadhi, Panchamrit and vegetables are offered to Lord Krishna. Additionally, Panchamrit is given to the devotees after offering it to the Lord.
