Akasa Air has started flying. The first flight left from Mumbai to Ahmedabad at 10:05 am on Sunday. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia flagged off Akasa’s first commercial flight. This flight reached Ahmedabad at 11.25 hrs. There were 189 passengers on the fully booked flight. This also included the cockpit and cabin crew. Akasa Air has emerged as a low cost airline in the market. This airline is giving a direct competition to the recent airlines companies.Â
Akasa Air tweeted
that Akasa Air will start operating on Bengaluru-Kochi from 13th August, Bangalore-Mumbai from 19th August and Chennai-Mumbai route from 15th September. The minimum fare for the flight is Rs 1916. Akasa Air’s first flight is for Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. Excited for the first flight, Akasa Air wrote on Twitter: “Can’t wait to see you in the sky! #ourFirstAkasa”
Apart
from the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, the airline will start services on the Bengaluru-Kochi route and Bengaluru-Mumbai route from August 13 and August 19 respectively. At the same time, from 15 September 2022, new daily flights will start between Chennai and Mumbai. According to the airline company, Mumbai-Ahmedabad flights will be operated 26 times a week. Whereas Bengaluru-Kochi and Bengaluru-Mumbai flights will fly 28 times every week.
