TCS Work From Home Ends! Hybrid work in IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) can be ended from October 1, 2023. The company has asked its workforce through an internal e-mail to attend office five days a week. This is an indication that the IT sector is going to change its work-from-home policies.

According to the report of English financial portal Moneycontrol, managers of different departments of TCS are asking their employees in e-mail to work from office five days a week. However, according to information received from sources, TCS will also adopt hybrid policy and flexibility so that some exceptions can be made when needed.
Instructions given in internal mail
CNBC-TV18 has seen an internal mail from TCS which reads “As informed by the CEO and Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) in various townhalls, for all associates from October 1, 2023 on all working days (if If there are no holidays, it is mandatory to be present in the office for 5 days every week.
This is a big change from TCS’s previous stance, which said that from September 2022, employees need to follow the roster and be in the office three days a week. It had also warned the employees of facing consequences if they did not follow this roster.
What answer did TCS give?
According to sources, the email has not been sent to all the teams and it is being sent in different ways. TCS declined to comment on Moneycontrol’s queries, saying that the company is ‘currently in a silent period’.

TCS has 615,318 employees in the quarter ending June 30, 2023. According to the company’s annual report for the financial year 2023, the workforce that TCS has today has been hired after March 2020.
