Bank Holiday Today : Today, Saturday, July 29, 2023, on the occasion of Muharram, banks are going to have a holiday in some states. Yesterday, on 28 July 2023, banks were closed in Jammu and Kashmir due to Muharram. At the same time, in August 2023, banks will remain closed for 14 days including Sunday, second and fourth Saturday. Banks across the country will remain closed on August 15 this month on the occasion of Independence Day.

Banks will remain closed in these states today on Muharram

Due to Muharram (Tazia), bank holiday is going to remain in Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Lucknow, New Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand zones.

Banks will remain closed for 14 days in August

There are many festivals and anniversaries in the month of August due to which banks are going to have a holiday. However, this holiday may be on different days in different states. Tendong Lo Rum Phat, Independence Day, Parsi New Year, Srimanta Sankardeva’s date, First Onam, Thiruvonam, Raksha Bandhan, Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti, Pang-lhabsol festivals are in this month.

August 6 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on the weekly holiday.

August 8 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Tendong Lo Rum Phat.

August 12 (Saturday) – Due to being the second Saturday of the month, the work in the banks will remain closed.

August 13 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on a weekly holiday.

August 15 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on the occasion of Independence Day.

August 16 (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in Maharashtra on the occasion of Parsi New Year (Shahenshahi).

August 18 (Friday) – Banks will remain closed in Assam due to Srimanta Sankardeva’s date.

August 20 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on a weekly holiday.

August 26 (Saturday) – Due to being the fourth Saturday of the month, the work in the banks will be closed.

August 27 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on the weekly holiday.

August 28 (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of first Onam.

August 29 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of Thiruvonam.

August 30-(Wednesday)- Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

August 31 – (Thursday) – Banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand, Assam, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti, Pang-Labsol.
