7th Pay Commission, Government Employees Salary Hike: The government has given great news for the government employees of two states. Salaries of government employees have been increased. Along with this, the pension of the retired employees has also been increased. Apart from this, jobs have also been announced. Elections are going to be held in both these states in the coming time, in view of which the state governments have taken this decision.
According to ET’s report, these two state budgets have announced bonuses for government employees ahead of the budget announcements for 2023-24. Apart from this, many welfare schemes have also been introduced. The Chhattisgarh government has announced an increase in the salary and pension of the employees and allowances. At the same time, the Rajasthan government has also announced an increase in pension.
Chhattisgarh government increased DA again
On the second day of the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, along with announcing several measures ranging from dearness allowance to government employees, turned the opposition’s plan to encircle the government. Bhupesh Baghel announced several measures worth Rs 2,000 crore. Along with this, Baghel announced a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance. This is the second hike within a month. Earlier, during the cabinet meeting, a 5 percent increase was made. Now five lakh employees of this state will get dearness allowance at par with the central government employees.
Salary of contract employees also increased
Apart from this, Bhupesh Baghel announced a 27 per cent increase in the salaries of 37,000 contract workers, which would cost the state government an additional Rs 350 crore. Among other announcements of Baghel, there is a monthly increase of 4,000 in the salary of daily wage earners, which will put an additional burden of 240 crores on the government. There will be a monthly salary of 2,000 for 1,650 guest teachers, which will cost Rs 4 crore.
Increased allowance of these people
Apart from this, an increase of Rs 5,500 in monthly resource allowance for Patwaris, Rs 8,000 annual allowance for police constables, Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 per month hike has been announced for all trainers, block level employees and help desk operators and 10,000 panchayat secretaries. At the same time, under the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme, the maximum financial assistance has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
Rajasthan government increased pension
The Rajasthan government introduced the Rajasthan Minimum Guaranteed Income Bill 2023 in the assembly earlier this week. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot introduced a bill, under which even after completing 100 days of work, he can work for 25 more days under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. If the state government is unable to provide employment, it will compulsorily give unemployment allowance.
Apart from this, the right to social security pension has been announced for every person falling in the category of old age, disabled, widow, single woman pension by 15 percent annually on the base rate in two installments, that is, there will be an increase of 5 percent in July and 10 percent in January in every financial year.
