In order to give relief to the common people, the central government has started a new facility related to ration card on Friday . Taking advantage of this facility, common people will not have to run from this office to that office to get the ration card made. The government has started the Common Registration Facility for this. This facility has been started in 11 states which is on pilot basis. Later it will be extended. Taking advantage of this service, homeless people, deprived, migrant and other eligible people can easily get their ration card made. By making a ration card, many government facilities can be availed, including the benefit of free ration.

According to one figure, a maximum of 81.35 crore people in the country can be covered under the National Food Security Act i.e. NFSA. At present, under this law, 79.77 crore people in the country are being given the facility of food grains etc. on subsidy. In this way the remaining 1.58 crore additional people can be added to it. In this context, the government has started the Common Registration Facility for making ration cards.

what did the government say

Central Government Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said that the Common Registration Facility (My Ration-My Right) was started on Friday with the aim of helping the states to expedite the making of ration cards. Ration cards will be made in the states by identifying the eligible people so that they can be given the benefits of facilities under the National Food Security Act. Sudhanshu Pandey also informed that in the last 7-8 years, around 4.7 crore ration cards belonging to an estimated 18-19 crore beneficiaries have been canceled due to different reasons. Along with this, new cards are also issued by the states and union territories to the eligible beneficiaries on a regular basis.

This new service of common registration has been started on pilot basis in 11 states and union territories. By the end of this month, this common platform will be started in all 36 states and union territories of the country where people can easily get their ration card made. The 11 states and union territories are Assam, Goa, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Punjab and Uttarakhand.

What will be the new facility

To take advantage of this new facility, it is not necessary to have the paper of the place where you live. The form can be filled by yourself or with the help of someone else on the common platform. In this, you will have to give information about your state or residence. After this, the common platform will share that information to that state. Then the state and common registration platform will complete the verification work on their basis and the ration card will be ready. This will also strengthen the government’s scheme One Nation-One Ration Card i.e. ONORC which is being run rapidly in every state. At present, all 36 states of the country are included in the ONORC scheme.
