The Meteorological Department has told that the Southwest Monsoon reached the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab on Sunday. Accordingly, it has now reached the whole country. Regarding the states of South India, the Meteorological Department said that heavy to very heavy rains are going to occur in South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe for the next five days. Talking about the states of West India, there will be heavy rains for five days in the Ghat areas of Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. At the same time, there is an alert of heavy rain in Gujarat on July 2 and July 6.
Talking about the northeastern states, all Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura have been warned of heavy to very heavy rain for the next five days. There will be torrential rains in Bihar on July 2 and 3. At the same time, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim for the next few days. There, there is an alert of torrential rains in Jharkhand between July 3 and 4 and in Odisha between July 3 and 6.
Flood like situation in many areas of Gujarat due to heavy rains
Heavy rains in many parts of Gujarat have led to a flood-like situation, leaving many villages cut off. Officials gave this information on Sunday. Data from the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) showed that parts of Valsad and Navsari districts received extremely heavy rainfall in the last 24-hour period ending Sunday morning. Officials said that many villages were cut off due to water-logging or inundation of roads.
He informed that National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are engaged in the operation to rescue the stranded people. Jamnagar is one of the worst-affected districts and police say 11 people have died in rain-related incidents since Friday.
Heavy rains stopped in Mumbai
