Even though the onset of monsoon over Kerala was delayed, it gradually picked up the pace and many states received early onset of monsoon. The Meteorological Department has said that active Monsoon conditions will continue over central, northwest India for the next two days and over the western coastal areas for the next three days.
The Meteorological Department has said that in the next two days, it will cover the areas of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab where monsoon has not arrived. Issuing an alert for the states of North West India, the Meteorological Department said that there will be light to moderate rains for the next three days. Heavy rains are going to occur in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana on June 29, East Rajasthan from June 29 to July 3, Uttarakhand and West Rajasthan on June 29 and June 30. Rains are likely to continue in most districts of Uttar Pradesh this week.
Apart from this, a warning of very heavy rain has been issued for the next two days in Madhya Pradesh of central India. Coming to West India, light to moderate rains are going to occur over Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra for the next five days. Apart from this, there is a rain warning in Gujarat for the next two days. At the same time, there will be very heavy rains in Konkan and Gujarat region today.
At the same time, it will rain in all Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh for the next five days. There is a warning of heavy rain in Bihar on June 29-30 and July 3. Talking about the states of South India, it will rain in Kerala, Mahe, Coastal for the next five days. Coastal Karnataka, Kerala has also been issued rain alert for five days. States like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh are also likely to continue with rains in the coming few days.
Heavy rains in Karnataka for the next ten days
The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center (KSNDMC) said the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are likely to receive heavy rains over the next 10 days with very heavy rainfall in some areas. Coastal districts are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall (64.5 mm to 115 mm), with very heavy rainfall (up to 244.4 mm) at isolated places during the period, said a KSNDMC statement.
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely at isolated places in all the districts of Coastal Karnataka. The district administration has already been asked to deploy de-watering pumps and other equipment in such areas to handle the situation if required.
Heavy rain in Delhi too
