A bumper increase of 16% has been made in DA for such employees. The rate of DA of such employees was currently 396% of the basic pay. After the change, DA has now been increased to 412 percent of the basic pay.
New DA will be applicable from 1 January 2023
The change made by the government will be applicable from January 1, 2023. That is, the employees will get arrears of six months along with the salary of June. On behalf of the Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance, it was said that it has been decided to increase the rate of Dearness Allowance (DA) in respect of employees of the Central Government and Central Autonomous Bodies from the existing 396% to 412% as per the 5th Central Pay Commission. Earlier in April 2023, the rate of DA was increased from 212% to 221% under the Sixth Pay Commission for the employees of the Center and Central Autonomous Bodies.
Currently getting 42 percent DA
Let us tell you that the central government is currently giving 42 percent dearness allowance of the basic salary to the employees getting salary under the 7th Pay Commission. Under the 7th Pay Commission, earlier 4 percent was increased, which increased to 42 percent. This increase was implemented from 1 January 2023. Now the next dearness allowance is to be announced by the central government in October in September.
This time also a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance is expected. Due to which it is expected to increase up to 46 percent of the basic salary. The announcement of dearness allowance to be made in October will be implemented from July 1. In this way, the employees will also get arrears of three to four months.
