According to several media reports, the government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to increase dearness allowance and dearness relief i.e. DA and DR by 4 percent for the employees and pensioners of the state.

Know from when the new dearness allowance will be applicable

This increased dearness allowance will be given to the employees and pensioners from January 1, 2023 and after that there will be a significant increase in their salary and pension. After this increase, the dearness allowance and dearness relief of the employees and pensioners of Uttar Pradesh will increase from 38 per cent to 42 per cent.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved

According to media reports, it has been learned that Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has approved the proposal to increase dearness allowance and dearness relief by 4 percent. The increase in DA and DR will benefit 16 lakh state government employees and 11.5 lakh pensioners of Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier on March 24, the central government had increased the dearness allowance for its employees and pensioners from 38 per cent to 42 per cent. After this, now the government of Uttar Pradesh is also going to increase the dearness allowance for its pensioners and employees by 4 percent, which will benefit lakhs of employees.

Jharkhand government had increased dearness allowance

Some time ago, ie at the end of April, the Jharkhand government had decided to increase the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners by four percent to 42 percent from January 1 this year. After the four percent increase in the dearness allowance of the state government employees, now it has increased to 42 percent. After this, the state government will have to spend an additional Rs 441 crore 52 lakh on salary payment.
