Toll collection in India is making records every day. According to the data released by NHI on Tuesday, toll collection from Fastag has reached a record level of Rs 193.15 crore on 29 April. A transaction of Rs 1.16 crore has taken place in just one day.
NHAI said in the statement that the government had made FASTag mandatory in 2021 in February. After that, toll plazas under the Fastag program increased from 770 to 1,228. This includes 339 state toll plazas. In this ‘Fastag Radio-Frequency Identification’ (RFID) technology is used.
Payment is done digitally
Due to this, the users do not have to stop at the toll plaza and they move forward after paying the toll in a few seconds. Due to this, the problem of jam on toll plaza and national highway has also been solved. The payment is done digitally through FASTag linked to the bank wallet. With the introduction of this process, toll collection by slip has ended at most places.
NHI has simplified the toll collection process
NHAI said that after effective use in toll collection, FASTag has facilitated payment in more than 140 parking lots in more than 50 cities of the country. NHAI also said that it is trying to finalize the works for implementing Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) based system for more smooth toll system in the country.
Let us tell you that the toll collection from Fastag is reaching a record level every day. The government is collecting good money in the interest of the country from the toll collection being done in crores.
