Which EPS members are eligible for higher pension?

The EPFO ​​has accepted the request for higher pension from employees who have compulsorily contributed more to the pension scheme under the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) scheme and have Has opted for enhanced pension coverage before retirement. Earlier, Atul Sobti, Director General of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and representative of Public Sector Enterprises in the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO, wrote a letter to Central Provident Fund Commissioner Neelam Shami Rao asking for online joint option form for higher pension from pension fund manager.

The last date was asked to be extended for at least one month. In the letter, Sobti, referring to the problems of EPS members, said that the EPFO ​​has not issued any clarification regarding the controversial clause in the document, nor has it been removed from the online form, even though the Kerala High Court on April 12 at 10 Instructions have been given to remove the clause within days. In this regard, Sobti had sought clarification from the EPFO ​​on the requirement of prior permission under Para 26(6).
