Banks are not closed on the fifth Saturday of the month
Generally, people assume that banks are closed on Saturdays falling in the last week of the month, but it is not so. Many times it happens that five Saturdays also fall in a month. However, as per the instructions of the RBI (Reserve Bank of India), banks will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. But, common citizens do not know that banks do not remain closed on the fifth Saturday falling at the end of the month.
Banks will remain closed on the last Saturday of April
Now the question arises whether the banks of the country will remain closed on the last Saturday in the last week of April, 2023? So the answer would be no. Now you will ask why not. The answer would be that the month of April started on a Saturday itself i.e. the day it fell on April 1, 2023 was a Saturday only.
Now as per RBI instructions, the second Saturday in the month of April was on 8th. After this, the third Saturday was on the 15th and the fourth Saturday was on the 22nd. Now the Saturday which is going to come at the end of the month, is the fifth Saturday of April.
Bank will not be closed on 29th April
Now let us tell you that according to the instructions of RBI, banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, but when the fifth Saturday falls in a month, the banks do not remain closed. Now in April, 2023, the last Saturday of the month is on 29th.
This means that the bank will not be closed on this last and fifth Saturday. Therefore, the functioning of banks will continue even on the last Saturday of April 2023 and people can easily do their bank work even in emergency.
