The central government has become strict about spam and fraud calls. The government had instructed to make a plan to get rid of the users from fraud and spam calls. A meeting was held on February 23 on behalf of TRAI regarding this.
In this meeting, a plan has been made with common consent, under which a user uses his personal mobile number for promotion and spam calls, that mobile number will be blocked for 2 years. Also no new SIM card will be issued to that address.
New plan for 10 digit mobile number
Under which TRAI has directed to issue separate new 10 digit mobile numbers for promotion calls, so that users can identify promotion and spam calls from a distance. Also, with the help of machine learning and artificial intelligence, instructions have been given to develop a mechanism to curb spam and fraud calls.
New mobile numbers will be issued
TRAI’s telecom companies have been instructed to issue 10 digit mobile numbers under 7 different categories, so that promotion and spam calls can be identified. For this, TRAI has created 7 categories. Different types of mobile numbers will be issued for all these categories. With which users will be able to identify fraud and spam calls and block them. Apart from this, emphasis has been laid on improving Do Not Disturb i.e. DND.
