Pan-Aadhar: The government has extended the deadline for linking PAN and Aadhaar to June 30, 2023, but still people will have to pay a fine for linking both the documents. No fee was to be paid for linking PAN-Aadhaar till March 31, 2022, but after that the government had made a provision for fine.
The government had extended the deadline for linking PAN and Aadhaar to 31 March 2023 but imposed a fine of Rs 1,000. Now this deadline has again been revised till June 30. Now this fine is Rs 1,000. If you still do not link PAN and Aadhaar, then from July 1, 2023, taxpayers will not be able to do this work.
1) No refund will be made for such PAN.
2) Interest will also be available on such refund for that time. As long as the pan pan remains inactive.
3) TDS and TCS will be deducted at the highest rate.
So far 51 crore PANs have been linked with Aadhaar. PAN can be linked with Aadhaar by paying Rs 1,000.
Aadhaar can be linked with PAN through SMS
1 First type UIDPAN (space) 12 digit Aadhaar number (space) PAN number from your mobile
2 Send SMS to 567678 or 56161 from your registered mobile number.
You will get a confirmation message for linking Aadhaar with PAN.

1 Visit the official website of Income Tax Department eportal.incometax.gov.in or incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
If you are not already registered then register first.
3 Your PAN and Aadhaar number will be set as your User ID.
4 Login to the portal with your User ID, Password and Date of Birth.
5 A pop up notification will appear on your screen asking you to link PAN with Aadhaar.
6 If the notification does not come, open the ‘Quick Links’ section. Select Link Aadhaar on the homepage.
7 Enter your PAN number, Aadhaar and click on the checkbox. Enter the captcha code on the screen.
8 After giving all the information, you will get a confirmation notification for linking Aadhaar with PAN. Your PAN will be linked with Aadhaar.
9 If there is a difference between the information given in your PAN and Aadhaar, then first you have to update your Aadhaar or PAN information. Without it this link will not happen.
