Usually any train of Indian Railways has a stop within 400 kms. But some very long distance trains have short stoppages so that it takes minimum time to reach its destination. There is only one such train in India which runs non-stop for 528 kms.

This is the longest non-stop train in the country. Its name is Nizamuddin-Trivandrum (Kerala) Rajdhani Express. It travels from Kota in Rajasthan to Vadodara in Gujarat without stopping.

This train covers a distance of 528 kilometers in just 6.30 hours. In this case, this train also beats the Shatabdi Express. It covers a total distance of 2845 kms. Its journey is so long that it has been deliberately given fewer stops. It completes its journey in 42 hours. Trivandrum Rajdhani runs only 3 days a week.

Started in 1993

The operation of this train started on 3 July 1993. It is run from Delhi on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Whereas, it runs from Kerala on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It passes through about half a dozen states on the way. Starting from Delhi, this train reaches Kerala via Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. By the way, the longest running train in the country is Vivek Express. It covers a distance of 4200 kilometers from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari in 85 hours.

Trivandrum Rajdhani runs with 21 coaches.

This train is operated with 21 coaches. When the train started, it had only 11 coaches. Today it has 2 First Class AC, 5 Coaches of 2-Tier AC, 11 Coaches of 3-Tier AC, 1 Pantry Car and 2 Luggage Coaches. The route through which this train passes, the route is also of many other capitals going towards the south.

Train with most stops

Amritsar-Howrah Express is the train with maximum number of stops in the country. It has a total of 115 stops. This train completes the journey of 1924 kilometers in more than 44 hours. Its average speed is 43 kilometers per hour.
