Ganga Expressway: The journey from Uttar Pradesh to New Delhi will become much faster as soon as the Ganga Expressway opens in the country. Due to which people will get a lot of relief and will be able to complete their journey in less time.
The 594-km greenfield section will pass through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh and will substantially reduce travel time in the national capital Delhi and its neighboring areas. The first phase of Ganga Expressway is underway. It will start from Judapur Dandu in Prayagraj district and provide seamless travel till Bijauli in Meerut district.
Explain that apart from Meerut and Prayagraj, this project will connect major cities of UP including Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Sambhal, Amroha, Bulandshahr and Hapur. Expressway will also have main toll plazas in Meerut and Prayagraj.
The Ganga Expressway is being constructed afresh. It will open as a six-lane expressway. Depending on the future travel volume, it will have the potential to be expanded to eight lanes. Among the major features of the Ganga Expressway, Shahjahanpur will have a 3.5 kilometer long airstrip. The expressway will have two bridges crossing the rivers namely 960 meter bridge over river Ganga and 720 meter bridge over Ramganga.
Toll tax will have to be paid at 12 places
As per reports, the Ganga Expressway will have 12 more toll plazas apart from the source and destination toll plazas at Meerut and Prayagraj. The expressway from Meerut will be seamlessly connected to the nearby economic centers of the national capital Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad through the 96 km, 8-lane, controlled Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
Time will be saved from 3 to 5 hours
This expressway will also be connected to Yamuna Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway and Purvanchal Expressway. Will reduce the distance from Eastern Uttar Pradesh to Delhi NCR from about 11-14 hours to 8-9 hours. The foundation stone of Ganga Expressway was laid in December 2021 and it is expected to be completed in 2024.
