Indian Railways has prepared a complete blueprint for changes in the train network across the country to save the time of passengers. According to the Ministry of Railways, this change will be done in a phased manner.
If everything goes according to the plan, in the coming time, semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express trains running at a speed of 180 to 260 km per hour will be replaced by trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto. After the chair car, the Ministry of Railways is preparing to run Vande Bharat train with sleeper facility this year.
Explain that Vande Bharat Express is India’s first semi-high-speed train, developed and designed by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, a subsidiary of Indian Railways. The train is sleek, modern and fully air-conditioned, with world class amenities and services for the passengers.
In the next two years, 400 trains of this version will be put on track on different routes of the country. According to the railways, the coaches of the sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express will be made of aluminum and it will be designed to run at a maximum speed of 220 kilometers per hour.
These trains will replace the Shatabdi-Rajdhani trains, according to the Railways, many companies including ICF have shown interest in making these trains. According to media reports, out of 400 trains, the first 200 will be chair car trains and the rest will be sleeper versions.
It has also been told that the chair car trains will be designed to run at a maximum speed of 180 kmph and will run at 130 kmph for commercial purposes. In fact, the chair car version of the Vande Bharat trains will gradually replace the Shatabdi Express trains and the sleeper version of the train will replace the Rajdhani Express trains.
