After this change, alcohol will be served safely during air travel. It was told on behalf of Air India that sensible work will be done to refuse to serve alcohol to the passengers again.

Appeal to cancel the license suspension order

On the other hand, in this whole matter, the employees’ organizations have appealed to the DGCA to cancel the suspension of the pilot. A joint forum of six employees’ organizations in the aviation sector appealed to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to cancel the order suspending the license of the chief pilot of the aircraft in the Air India urine scandal. The DGCA had imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on Air India in connection with the incident of a passenger allegedly urinating on a female co-traveller during a New York-Delhi flight.

Apart from this, a fine of Rs 3 lakh was also imposed on the Director of Flight Services of Air India for failing to discharge his duties in the context of this incident which took place on November 26, 2022. In a letter sent to the DGCA, the joint forum, citing various aspects, appealed to the DGCA to withdraw the suspension and strict punishment of the chief pilot.

The organizations making the appeal include Indian Pilots Guild, Indian Commercial Pilots Association, Air Corporation Employees Union, Air India Employees Association, All India Cabin Crew Association and Airline Pilots Association of India. The Joint Forum has sent this letter when Air India said that the investigation in the said matter has been closed.
