8th Pay Commission: Only after the general elections in the year 2024, there will be any discussion on the formation of new pay commission. But, it is certain that the matter is moving forward.
However, the movement of employee unions and many organizations is also moving forward. Preparations are going on for the nationwide movement. Just a few days ago, there was a lot of ruckus in Bengal too regarding this. According to the government machinery, there is currently no proposal on the 8th Pay Commission. Union Minister of State for Finance has also mentioned this in the Parliament.
But, the sources of the government departments tell that the time has not yet come for the formation of the Pay Commission. Its deadline will start in the year 2024. After the general elections of 2024, when the new government is formed, a decision will be taken on this.
As per earlier reports, an announcement regarding the 8th Pay Commission implementation plan was to be made during the Union Budget 2023. However, no such announcement was made.
Now the latest reports have again raised the hopes of the government employees regarding the 8th Pay Commission. Generally, the pay commission rules for government employees are changed every 10 years. This pattern was seen in the implementation of 5th, 6th and 7th Pay Commissions.
When will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?
Even though there is no official announcement on the 8th Pay Commission, recent reports have claimed that the Center may start working on it and announce it in 2024. DNA report claims Center may announce 8th Pay Commission before Lok Sabha 2024 Lok Sabha elections will give massive pre-poll boost to lakhs of government employees. However, after the election results are declared and the new government is formed, the talks in this regard will reach a serious level
However, if these reports are true, then the 8th Pay Commission can be made in place of 7th Pay Commission by the end of 2024. If implemented, the recommendations could be implemented till 2026. After its implementation, the 8th Pay Commission will give huge increments to government employees from the lowest to the highest levels in the pay scale.
4% DA Hike Soon
The central government employees are now waiting for the DA hike to be announced and a finance ministry official said that there could be a 4 per cent hike in DA by next week as the paperwork is still underway.
