8th Pay Commission: The government has announced the 8th Pay Commission and since then the curiosity about it is increasing in the minds of the employees. Now Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given a big statement about the 8th Pay Commission.

Ever since the 8th Pay Commission was announced by the Central Government, expectations have been rising regarding the salaries of the employees. Central Government employees are expecting a significant increase in their basic salary. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had confirmed the announcement of the 8th Pay Commission in January and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also confirmed the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission in the same month. Now Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made a big statement regarding the 8th Pay Commission.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission will prove beneficial for over 36 lakh Central Government employees and pensioners or their families as well as Defence personnel and their pensioners. The estimated number of Central Government employees and pensioners/family pensioners is Rs 36.57 lakh (up to March 1, 2025) and Rs 33.91 lakh (up to December 31, 2024) respectively.

Sitharaman said, adding that the Centre has made progress towards its formation. The government has also considered inputs from stakeholders like the Finance Minister, Defence Ministry, Home Ministry, Department of Personnel and Training and state governments. Apart from this, the financial impact of the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission, which includes inflation-related revisions in pay and pension, allowances and benefits, will be provided after all these recommendations are submitted and accepted. The Pay Commission is constituted after every 10 years.

In how many days will the report come?

The government has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, but the big question on everyone’s mind is in how many days will the commission submit its report. When the Finance Minister was asked about this, he said that the government has decided to constitute the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC). How long will it take to submit the report to the government, will be decided in due course. It has been learned that the 8th pay recommendations are to be implemented from January 1, 2025.
