According to the Finance Ministry’s Office Memorandum, DA was getting 203 percent under the Sixth Pay Commission, it has been increased to 212 percent. This hike in salary will be effective from July 1, 2022.

DA will increase for employees getting salary under 5th pay commission

Central government employees and employees of central autonomous bodies are getting money under the fifth pay commission. His DA has been increased from 381 per cent to 396 per cent. For them also, this increase of DA will be applicable from July 1, 2022.

DA is fixed on the basis of basic salary of government employees. For example, suppose the basic salary of a central government employee is Rs 43,000 per month. They are getting salary as per 6th pay commission. As per DoE’s office memorandum dated October 12, 2022, the DA will be increased to 212 per cent from the existing 203 per cent. That is, their salary will increase by about Rs 3,870.

Why was DA increased?

Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief (DR) for Central Government employees and pensioners who are paid as per the 7th Central Pay Commission has been increased from 34 per cent to 38 per cent as on 28 September 2022. These new rates have come into effect from July 1, 2022. However, the employees and pensioners who were drawing salary or pension as per the 6th Pay Commission or the Fifth Pay Commission have been demanding the government to revise their DA or DR for a long time.
