Recently, the dearness allowance for government employees was increased by 4 percent by the Central Government, after which the DA of the employees has been reduced from 34 percent to 38 percent. After this, many more states have also announced about the DA hike. Now the Assam government on Wednesday increased the daily allowance for the home guards of the state from Rs 300 to Rs 767.

Notification has been issued regarding this increase, the state government has decided to implement the hike with immediate effect. The state government said that after the hike, the monthly salary of the home guard will be Rs 23,010. Giving information on Twitter, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Home Guards, a branch of Assam Police, play an important role in maintaining law and order.

He said that meeting the long standing demand of 24,000 Home Guards, it has been approved to increase the daily wages of 24,000 Home Guards from the existing Rs.300 to Rs.767. In such a situation, his monthly salary has been increased to Rs 23,010.

Increased dearness allowance of state employees

The dearness allowance of the state employees has been taken after the announcement of DA hike by the central government. The move comes after several states increased dearness allowance and dearness relief to government employees ahead of Diwali. The states which have increased DA and DR include Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

Center increased DA of government employees by 4 percent

Last month, the Union Cabinet increased dearness allowance and dearness relief by 4 per cent with effect from July 1, 2022 , benefiting 41.85 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners. The additional installment of DA and dearness relief is an increase of 4 per cent over the existing rate of 34 per cent of basic pay or pension. Both DA and DR will cost Rs 12,852.5 crore per annum.
