But the Central Government employees are still waiting for the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA Hike). It is being said that the government can announce an increase in the DA of central employees in the beginning of September. But so far no official statement has come from the government on this. However, the government has definitely made it clear that the Eighth Pay Commission will not come for the time being.

DA was increased in March

The government changes the dearness allowance of central employees every six months. The last time the government increased the DA of employees by three percent in March 2022. After this, the DA of central employees was increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent. At present, DA is being paid to central employees at the rate of 34 per cent.

Change happens every six months

According to media reports, the government can increase the DA of central employees by four percent. But when this will happen, the government has not said anything on it. Because the increase in DA in March is about to complete six months. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary had said in the Lok Sabha recently that the inflation rate is calculated on the basis of the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (ACIPI). On this basis, the dearness allowance of the employees is changed every six months.

How much will the salary increase?

According to the calculation, if the government increases the DA of the employees from 34 percent to 38 percent, then there will be a big increase in the salary. At present, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18,000. At the rate of 34 per cent, the dearness allowance works out to Rs 6,120. If there is an increase of four per cent, then the DA will be Rs 6,840.

If the government increases the DA by four per cent keeping in view the current inflation figures, then 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners will get the benefit. The DA given to government employees is part of their financial assistance salary structure. When will the government increase the DA of central employees? No official information has been revealed on this. However, according to media reports, the government can take a big decision on the increase in DA in September.
