7th pay commission: The wait for DA hike among central employees is increasing. Meanwhile, state government employees have got a big gift of DA hike.
Actually, the Sikkim government has announced an increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners. This information has been given through an official circular.
The official circular said that the dearness allowance of state government employees and dearness relief to pensioners drawing salary under the revised basic pay structure will be increased from the existing 50 per cent to 53 per cent from July 1, 2024. That is, DA has been increased by 3%.
What is the detail
In a circular issued on March 21 by the Controller of Accounts cum Secretary, Finance Department, it was said that the dearness allowance of state government employees and DR of pensioners receiving pension under the pay structure prior to the revised basic pay scale will be increased from the existing 239 per cent to 246 per cent and it will be effective from July 1, 2024.
Central employees will also get relief soon!

It is reported that the final decision on this can be taken in the upcoming meeting of the Union Cabinet which is going to be held on Wednesday this week. According to media reports, this time there is a possibility of only 2 percent increase in DA, which will be the lowest in the last 7 years. For the last few years, the central government has been announcing an increase in DA every time around Holi . However, this year it has not been announced yet.
