A big update is coming for central employees regarding salary in the new year. Under the new update, the salary of more than 52 lakh central employees can be seen to increase soon.

The government was expected to take a decision on the fitment factor by 2022, but this decision was postponed due to some reason. Now it is expected that the government can take a decision on this in the new year. The government may soon accept the demand for revising the fitment factor.

Several rounds of meetings have taken place regarding this.

In fact, there has been a demand from the central government employees for a long time to change the fitment factor. Several meetings have been held between the employees association and the government regarding this. If media reports are to be believed then the government is trying to implement it before 2024. It can be announced to be implemented in March 2023 after the budget. If this happens, there will be a bumper jump in the salary of the employees.

There can be a bumper increase in salary

According to the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor for central employees is 2.57 percent, according to which they are getting salary. Now the workers are demanding to increase it to 3.68 times. If this happens, the minimum basic salary will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. If the central government accepts this demand, then there will be a tremendous increase of Rs 8,000 in the minimum basic salary of the central employees. With the increase in basic salary, allowances like dearness allowance, HRA will also increase.

Salary can increase so much

If the fitment factor is increased to 3.68, then the basic pay of the employees will be Rs 26,000. Now if your minimum salary is Rs 18,000, then excluding allowance you will get Rs 46,260 (18,000 X 2.57 = 46,260) according to 2.57 fitment factor. Now if the fitment factor is 3.68 then your salary will be Rs 95,680 (26000X3.68 = 95,680).
