One gets to see and hear a lot of discussions regarding the 7th Pay Commission . Meanwhile, now good news has come out for some teachers on the 7th Pay Commission. In fact, even before the beginning of the new year 2023, the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab had announced that teachers of colleges and universities would be paid under the Seventh Pay Commission. In such a situation, those teachers will be greatly benefited.

Appreciating the decision , State Higher Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Haier termed it as a big step of the state government, which was pending for the last six years. Under the revised salary structure, teachers will jointly get a fund of Rs 280 crore. The Punjab government said in a statement that the disbursement of the fund or the revised salary would be released from the state treasury.

7th Pay Commission Guest Faculty and Part Time Lecturers will be given holiday benefits along with the 7th Pay Commission. Regarding this, Punjab’s Higher Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer had said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has fulfilled the pending demand of the teachers of colleges and universities for the last six years.

Increase in Salary

He said that in the very first year, the Hon’ble Government has taken a big step to implement the UGC 7th Pay Commission for the teachers of colleges and universities of Punjab. With this decision implemented in the month of October, teachers will get financial benefit of Rs 280 crore from the government exchequer. Along with this, the salaries of guest teachers and part-time teachers working in colleges were increased and they were given different types of holidays.
