There is good news for the government employees of Karnataka. Actually, the Chief Minister of the state Basavaraj Bommai has given a big gift to lakhs of employees and pensioners of the state before Holi.Â
The Chief Minister said that we have announced 17 percent salary hike for government employees as an interim relief. This increase will be applicable from 1 April. Bommai said that a committee under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) would be constituted to study the new pension scheme, financial matters and other issues in other states and then submit a detailed report.
Employees’ indefinite strike back
Government employees in Karnataka have called off their indefinite strike after getting assurance from the government regarding their demands like salary hike. Earlier, several meetings had taken place between the government and the employees union, in which no result was found. State government employees also protested at the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) premises in Bengaluru on Wednesday demanding the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.
