It has been said in the office memorandum that after the 50% increase in dearness allowance of central government employees, the amount of children’s education allowance and hostel subsidy has also been revised. This revision will be considered valid from January 1, 2024. This office memorandum has been issued on 25 April. It is written in it that it is clearly written in the rules that every time dearness allowance is increased by 50 percent, the allowances related to it will increase by 25 percent.

Salary will increase by this much due to increase in children education allowance and hostel subsidy

It has been made clear in the memorandum of DoPT that the amount of children’s education allowance will increase to Rs 2,812.5 every month. The hostel subsidy will remain at Rs 8437.5 per month irrespective of the actual expenses of the government employee.

Children Education Allowance for disabled children

It has been said that for disabled children of government employees, the allowance for child education allowance will be double the normal rates i.e. Rs 5,625 per month. It doesn’t matter how much you spend. The rates of special allowance for child care for disabled women have been revised to Rs 3750 per month. All these revisions are applicable from January 1, 2024, when the 4% DA hike comes into effect.

In the first week of March, the Central Government had increased DA for employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners by 4%, after which this allowance increased to 50%.
