Government announced
Ahead of the festival, the Odisha government on Monday announced an increase in Dearness Allowance for state government employees. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday approved a proposal to increase dearness allowance for state government employees. According to the new notification issued by the government, 3 percent increase in dearness allowance has been approved.
Government employees will get arrears
In the new announcement, the government has said that the dearness allowance of the employees has been increased from the existing 31 percent to 34 percent. The increased dearness allowance will be deemed to be applicable from January 1, 2022. That is, along with this, employees will also get 8 months arrears. This decision of the Odisha government will benefit 4 lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners. Let us tell you that the government issued a notification and told that the arrears of dearness allowance from January to August will be paid separately to the employees.
DA equal to central employees
It is worth noting that the dearness allowance of central government employees is also 34% at present. That is, now the state government employees will also get the benefit of dearness allowance as much as the central government employees.
Central employees waiting for DA hike
It is worth noting that an increase in dearness allowance of central employees can also be announced by the end of this month. Actually the dearness allowance of the employees depends on the data of AICPI. Based on the data of AICPI, the increase in dearness allowance of central employees has been decided. But it has not been announced yet.
