Good news is coming this month for the central government employees. An announcement will be made on increasing dearness allowance and dearness relief for employees and pensioners. It is possible to announce an increase in DA at the rate of 4%.
Cabinet meeting will be held on 28 September
According to the data of the AICPI index till June, there will be a 4% increase (DA Hike) in the dearness allowance of the employees. The AICPI index has reached 129.2. If sources are to be believed, it can be announced in the meeting of the Union Cabinet to be held on 28 September. The new Dearness Allowance (Central Employees Dearness Allowance) will be applicable from July 1, 2022. After the announcement, the benefit of increased DA will be available in the salary of October itself. At present, 34% dearness allowance is being given to central employees.
This is how DA increases
The dearness allowance of Central Employees depends on the consumer inflation i.e. All India Consumer Price Index. If this figure increases continuously, then dearness allowance also increases accordingly. Consumer inflation data for the first half of this year has come out. This confirms that dearness allowance is expected to increase at the rate of 4% in the coming days.
This formula will be applicable for the employees
The calculation formula has been changed by the Ministry of Labor and Employment regarding dearness allowance. The Labor Ministry has changed the base year 2016 for Dearness Allowance (DA Calculation). A new series of Wage Rate Index (WRI-Wage Rate Index) has been released. The Labor Ministry said that the new series of WRI with base year 2016=100 will replace the old series of base year 1963-65.
