The Pramod Sawant government of Goa increased the dearness allowance for government employees to 42% of their basic pay. The hike is applicable from January 1 and will be paid along with April salary.
After the central government, now the states have also started the process of increasing the dearness allowance i.e. DA of their employees and dearness relief i.e. DR of pensioners. States like Assam, Rajasthan and Jharkhand have increased by 4 per cent in the last few days. At the same time, now the government of Goa has also increased DA and DR.

This means that the April salary of the state employees will increase. It has been said in the order of the government that the arrears from January to March will also be paid to the employees in April. Earlier, government employees were being given dearness allowance at 38% of the basic pay.
Jharkhand government’s gift too: Recently the Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand has also increased DA and DR. This increase has been of 4 percent. Earlier, the governments of Assam and Rajasthan had also announced to increase the dearness allowance of their employees.
