DA Hike in Jharkhand: After the increase in dearness allowance for lakhs of employees during Navratri by the central government, now the Jharkhand government has also given good news to the employees.

The cabinet of the Jharkhand government has approved a proposal to increase the Dearness Allowance by 4 percent for its employees and pensioners. This increase will be effective from 1 July 2022. It is believed that the increased DA employees will get the salary in October 2022. According to this, the employees are also likely to get the dearness allowance for three months.

Giving information about the increase in Dearness
Allowance, an official said that this decision of the government will directly benefit 1.35 lakh employees and pensioners. He told that this decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that with this decision, the dearness allowance of state government employees and pensioners has increased from 34 percent to 38 percent. Earlier, in April 2022, an increase in dearness allowance was announced by the Jharkhand government.

Announcement of free ration till December
Earlier, the Central Government has increased the Dearness Relief Allowance (DR) for employees by 4% to 38%. According to the Office Memorandum (OM) of the Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare, the DR has been increased to 38%. In the meeting held under the chairmanship of PM Modi on the third Navratri (September 28), it was announced to increase the dearness allowance from 34 percent to 38 percent. Taking a big decision for the ration card holders in the cabinet meeting, free ration was announced till December.

On the other hand, based on the data of the AICPI index for August released by the Labor Ministry, the way has been cleared for the increase in dearness allowance to be done in January 2023. There has been an increase of 0.3 points in the figure for August as compared to July. The AICPI index was 129.9 in July, which has increased to 130.2 in August. With this increase, the way has been cleared for the DA hike to be held in January on the new year for 65 lakh employees.
