7th Pay Commission Latest Update: The Narendra Modi government at the Center may announce soon after Holi about the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). According to media reports, the central government may announce an increase in the DA of lakhs of employees after Holi.

This time the government can increase the DA of the employees by 4 percent. The Modi government can increase the DA of central employees from 38 percent to 42 percent. Tomorrow is Holi, after that it is expected that the government will give gifts to the government employees.

Salary of government employees increases twice a year

Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of government employees are revised twice in a year. It is considered applicable from 1 January and 1 July. The government can increase DA from 38 percent to 42 percent. That is, there will be a total increase of 4 percent in DA. This will benefit lakhs of government employees.

The last revision in DA was done on 28 September 2022, which was considered to be applicable from 1 July 2022. The central government had increased DA from four per cent to 38 per cent based on the percentage increase in the 12-monthly average of the All India Consumer Price Index.

There will be so much increase in salary

Right now the DA of the employees is 38 per cent. Suppose if your basic salary is Rs 18,000 per month under Level 1 pay scale, according to 38% DA, the employees would be getting Rs 6,840 DA at present. If there is an increase of 4 percent in it, then it will increase to 42 percent. 18,000 a month, then your DA will increase to Rs 7,560. There will be a total increase of Rs 720 per month in your DA.
