5G network has been started in the country. The government has offered 5G services since October. Both Reliance Jio and Airtel have revealed their plans to lead the 5G revolution in India.
While Vi (formerly Vodafone Idea) has not yet started this service for its customers. Reliance Jio and Airtel have now collectively launched 5G networks in around 50 Indian cities. Both these companies are bringing the latest wireless technology to the customers. Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav disclosed this during the parliamentary question hour.
What did Ashwini Vaishnav say
In response to a question in the Parliament, the Minister said that “Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) have started offering 5G services in the country from 01.10.2022 and by 26.11.2022 5G services have started in 50 cities.
No Pay for 5G Access
He said that now there is no additional fee to be paid for 5G services. In other words, if you are an existing paid customer of Airtel or Reliance Jio, you don’t have to pay anything to access 5G in India.
